The International Gastronomic Fair Mistura 2011 is set to take place in Lima from September 9 to 18. The event will be the year's largest showcase for Peruvian cuisine, representing regional dishes from across the country.
The previous three Mistura events never failed to create a buzz, but 2011 looks to be the biggest yet. Foodies from across the globe will descend upon Lima's Parque de la Exposicion, including celebrity chefs such as Heston Blumenthal, Dan Barber, Ferran Adria and Michel Bras. Peru's top chef, Gastón Acurio, will also be strolling through the fair.
At only S/.20 (US$7.30 approx.) for adults and S/.10 (US$3.70) for children between 6 to 12 years, the Mistura food festival is certainly worth a visit. You can buy tickets from various Wong and Metro supermarkets in Lima, or through Peru's Teleticket website. For more information, visit the official Mistura website.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll be in Lima at that time and will check it out. I had no idea it was going on!
Thanks.
No problem! It sounds like an interesting event. Keep an eye out for roasted ants…
Tony,
A huge effort was made to attend the event. However a line extending more than half mile put me off. I opted for a menu meal instead.
Purchasing tickets in advance seems to be the only way to go. Unfortunately our time schedule with flights made this next to impossible.
Thank you for the great information though!

A half-mile line would probably put me off — I hate queuing! I’m going to try to make it to Mistura next year — might see you there…
