Star Perú, one of the largest domestic airlines in Peru, has obtained permission to fly to a number of international destinations throughout the Americas.
According to the Peruvian T News website, the airline has been granted an operating permit for non-scheduled passenger, cargo and mail flights to nations throughout South, Central and North America, including the United States and Canada.
It seems likely that Star Perú will eventually push for scheduled flights to major destinations, allowing it to compete internationally against rival airlines LAN and TACA. Since 2004, Star Perú has offered competitive domestic rates in comparison to its two main rivals. If the airline manages to make its mark on the international circuit, it may well offer some bargain flights to and from Peru. Watch this space...
