I've finally completed my Peru Month by Month series: a collection of 12 articles listing the major festivals and events taking place in Peru each month.
There are naturally some omissions. Peru celebrates thousands (about 3,000, according to the Peruvian tourist board) of religious festivals each year, so including them all would be a major process, especially alongside numerous city anniversaries, cultural festivals and other annual events.
What you will find, however, is a detailed listing of the most important events -- everything from pilgrimages to dance contests -- taking place each month. If you're planning a trip to Peru, or if you're already traveling in the country, just select the appropriate month to find out what's happening across the country.
