Dengue Outbreak in Pucallpa

By November 16, 2012

Follow me on:

Three days ago, regional authorities declared a state of emergency in Pucallpa, capital of the Ucayali region, following rising cases of dengue fever. According to a Peru21 report published yesterday (November 15), approximately 1,800 cases of dengue have so far been confirmed in the region, with six fatalities.

Regional health authorities, with the help of the local population, are trying to contain the outbreak, but cases are likely to rise before the state of emergency is lifted.
