Peru's Dirección Regional de Salud (Regional Health Directorate) has declared a yellow alert in Piura due to rising cases of dengue fever, warning that the current situation could escalate to epidemic levels in the future.

According to a report by Perú21, the yellow alert ensures that health center personnel are available to attend patients with dengue symptoms 24 hours a day and free of charge. With timely treatment and constant monitoring of cases, the Dirección Regional de Salud hopes to minimize the risk of a major dengue outbreak in the region.
