Yep, recognition keeps on pouring in for Peruvian cuisine, as well as fresh awards for the country's coffee.

On the food front, the Zagat blog recently paid tribute to two Peruvian restaurants in "The 10 Hottest Restaurants in the World: Where to Eat Right Now." The top pick chosen by Zagat staff was Coya, a Peruvian restaurant in London, England. The second Peruvian eatery to make the top 10 was Gaston Acurio's Peruvian Japanese fusion restaurant Tanta, located in Barcelona, Spain.

Three Peruvian coffees, meanwhile, made it into the Rainforest Alliance's December Cupping for Quality top 10, held at the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) Lab in Long Beach, California. The three Rainforest Alliance Certified coffees from Peru were Tunki (in second place), Quechua (fifth) and Coop Sol & Café (ninth).
