Since its foundation in 1955, the Instituto de Arte Contemporáneo (IAC) has been fighting to realize its dream of a dedicated contemporary art museum in Lima. The Peruvian capital has never had such a home for contemporary art, but the IAC is now set to make its dream a reality.
On January 24, the new Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Lima (MAC-Lima) will open its doors to the public following the official inauguration on January 23.
The museum is located at Avenida Grau 1511 in the Barranco district of Lima. For more information, see the MAC-Lima website (not to be confused with the excellent but fictional LiMAC website) or Facebook page.
